Making the Smithville Inv. even better was the results of the races. Only the two Captains, Austin and Micaela, medaled, but there were six personal records amongst the nine athletes who ran.
Although Micaela didn't have a personal record time, she did manage to finish in the top 50% and score another medal for the Varsity Girls squad of one.
There were six boys running on Varsity for this meet, once again looking to see how they would stack up against Conference opponents. Austin had a PR and broke the 18 minute barrier for the first time. He was awarded a medal for his efforts and finished 7th overall. Christian, Jacob, and Bailey also finished with personal records for the Varsity team. Seth and Brent had respectable times. As a team, the boys finished 10th. Conference rival, Holden, finished 2nd. Other Conference opponents at the meet included Odessa, Oak Grove, Pleasant Hill, and Richmond. At this time, it is not known where they placed as a team. Robert, Daulton, Ben, and Alex did not run at this meet.
For the Junior Varsity Girls, Katelen and Ali both finished with personal record times. Unfortunately, neither of them medaled. This is the first meet in which Katelen didn't medal.
Excelsior Springs results can be seen on the Smithville Meet page.
